Richard Engelberg, CPA

Dick Engelberg retired in 2006 after more than 35 years of public accounting experience. Prior to being one of the founding partners of Lavine, Lofgren, Morris & Engelberg, Dick was a Partner at Touche Ross (now Deloitte) for over 20 years. For 13 of those years, he served as the Director of Tax Operations for their San Diego office. Dick had extensive experience in partnership transactions, including Section 183 issues, profits interest for services, Section 754 step-ups and the entrance and withdrawal of partners during the year. He was also a part-time professor at the University of San Diego, teaching taxation of corporations and partnerships. Dick received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration degrees from Indiana University.
