Lavine, Lofgren, Morris & Engelberg (LLME) is proud to announce that Michele Barrow, a tax partner with the firm, was recently named as one of San Diego’s Women of Influence by San Diego Metro Magazine.
During the pandemic, with tax laws and deadlines evolving in a climate of economic uncertainty, Michele led her team and advised clients with calm confidence and professionalism.
For 20 years Michele has provided tax compliance and tax planning services to a wide variety of corporations, partnerships, individuals and trusts. Her client base encompasses many industries, including professional services, software, bio-tech, manufacturing and construction.
A leader at LLME, Michele oversees the firm’s marketing committee, with a focus on client communications, and is active in recruiting, continuing education and LLME’s community support efforts. Additionally, Michele was a pioneer in establishing the firm’s progressive flexible work schedule program, paving the way for many others.
This last year, in particular, Michele really stepped up for her clients and the firm. She keeps a very close eye on the changing tax environment and keeps her clients informed through ongoing communication. As a skilled advisor, using technology and exploring alternatives to face-to-face meetings, she continues to work with clients to navigate through the uncertainty and build solid tax strategies.
Michele’s love of business and math, paired with the joy she receives from helping clients save money and reach financial goals, led her to pursue a Master’s in Taxation from San Diego State University. She has an undergraduate degree from Cal State San Marcos.
